Afropolitaine, a fresh and funny satirical comedy about the daily lives of an Afro descent French family, has premiered on YouTube. The series which focuses on two sisters and their family antics centers on Afro-French culture without the stereotypes.

Manda Touré plays Yvoire, a 24-year-old young woman while Tracy Gotoas plays 20- year -old Yanis, a high-school dropout and an activist. Stephanie Vitonou plays their fierce mother Alphonsine whose traditional views clash with modern views of her daughters.

The creators

The creators of this series are a mother-daughter team of Aline Milla and Soraya Milla.

Aline is a French national of Beninese descent who started her career in the film industry as a script writer before shifting to production.

Aline has been telling stories since 2016 and she frequently collaborates with her daughter, Soraya Milla.

Soraya Milla is a French national of Benino-Cameroonian descent who grew up in France and in Ivory Coast.

Soraya graduated in Performing Arts at the University of Paris X, got degrees in film directing from the Institut des Arts de Diffusion (Belgium) and in audiovisual production at the National Audiovisual Institute in Paris.
